School update!!!!

I am still the meanest mommy in the whole world! Everyday I take Nolan to school they still have to pry him out of my car! It is so sad. He is silent the whole way to school. He is so scared you can see it in his eyes. When we pull in he starts whimpering and when they walk up to get him out he just burst into tears and grabs ahold of the headrest in front of him. The teacher literally has to unravel his fingers from the seat. It is so sad. I am usually almost in tears before I pull away. When I ask him if he wants to go to school he always says no! He says "I cry. Mommy go bye bye"

I ask the teacher every week if he is getting any better. She said he is doing wonderful and usually stops crying by the time he gets into the room. So, maybe he is just playing me but I feel awful! The best part of it all is that when I go to pick him up he is so excited and runs to me with the biggest smile! He is so cute when we leave, he waves to the class and says "bye friends". It really is cute to see him developing friendships.

Well, off we go again tomorrow. We will see if it is any better! Wish me luck!

Magic Kingdom

Saturday at Disney we took the boys to Magic Kingdom. The whole trip we had told Nolan he was going to get to see Mickey and finally we were going. He was so excited. It was all he talked about. When we first got there the parade was starting so we got to see Mickey right away. He loved it.

Me and my guys on our 1st trip to Magic Kingdom!
Nolan at Magic Kingdom....And Carson... It was so hot that we just stripped Carson down to his diaper for the better part of the day. He will appreciate that later in life. Naked for his 1st trip to Disney!

Nolan was so excited when he saw Mickey round the corner on his float... He just kept waving and saying"Hey Mickey." Mickey was waving at everyone but I really think Nolan thought he was the only guy there! He was definatly in his own little dream world!

At the end of the day we went to Mickey land where all the character stay to sign autographs. We waited in a line where we THOUGHT Mickey was. Turns out, after waiting for close to an hour, it was the Disney Princesses. Mike was happy, Nolan not so much! Who do you think was happier to meet the princesses?!?!?
After waiting in the line and seeing the princesses instead of Mickey, I really dreaded waiting in another line to see Mickey. So, we told Nolan that Mickey was sleeping and we did not think we would get to see him. It was so pitiful... Nolan walked around Mickey's house looking in every room saying "Oh, no mommy... Mickey's sleeping! Oh no!" He was so heart broken I could not stand leaving without letting him see Mickey. So, off we went to see Mickey. The whole time in line he was so excited. When we got in to see Mickey he was waving and very excited. The closer we got the more timid he got. By the time it was our turn to see him, he was in a full out cry and hanging on my leg. So, here is OUR picture with Mickey.

After we took the picture and began walking out, Nolan turned with crocodile tears in his eyes and gave the cutest wave and said in a pitiful little voice "bye bye Mickey" It was worth the wait just to hear that!

We had a great time on our trip to Disney. It was very hard (probably the hardest thing I have done with two kids so far) But the memories will last a lifetime! I have been to Disney many times in my life but this was by far the best... to see it through the eyes of your child really is the best!

And one last pic to show how much fun Nolan had at Magic Kingdom....

Sea World

So I am trying really hard to catch up because we have done so much lately that I want to share. We took the boys to Sea World on our family vacation. Nolan loved it. He actually had a better time at Sea World than at Disney. He still talks about Shamu. When we go over the bridge by the lake at our house he says "Hey Shamu!" It was alot of fun.

The boys at Sea World. Again... impossible to get both looking at the same time!
Nolan watching the dolphins. He really enjoyed watching them but did not want anything to do with touching them

Shamu puts on a really great show! We had great seats and Nolan did not take his eyes off the water! These whales and there trainers are amazing! They had a really cool play area for the kids. They had huge slides. I thought Nolan would be scared because they were so big but obviously he loved them!

Sea world is somehow associated with Anhauser Bush. They give away free beer in the park... Can you belive that this was Mike's favorite part?!?!?

I did not get a lot of pics from Sea World. My camera was dropped (partly for the beer and Mike to blame) and I was unable to get it working properly... But we did have a great time!

Disney World!!!!

Mike and I took the boys to Disney World a few weekends ago for a family vacation. It was terrific. We were very tired by the end of the trip but we had so much fun. Nolan had a blast and Carson was a trooper. We went for four days and did something everyday, all day...needless to say, I needed a vacation from vacation. We stayed at a hotel that had a waterpark. This was Nolan's favorite part. He is my fish and would have stayed there the whole trip and loved it! So Thursday when we got there, we put our trunks on and headed for the water park...
A view of the waterpark
Nolan going down the waterslide (over and over and over)
My lil' fish...
They had these cute baby waterslides but they were a death trap. They were lightning fast and the landing strip was concrete. Nolan loved them... They made me cringe!

Having lots of fun...

Carson has not really shown any interest this summer in the pool but really enjoyed it on this trip...
My little sun bather...

Nolan's cousin Addy came to enjoy the waterpark. Her and Nolan are so funny to watch. They are so rough with one another. Nolan definatly meets his match when Addy is around.

Sweet cousins...
And then the horns come out...My sweet neice Addy...Keep checking back. I have lots more fun stuff to share.

And Nolan...

Nolan turned 27 months old this month. Boy oh boy what a month. As you know we put him in preschool this month. I was hoping it would help the seperation anxiety he has been going through lately but it did not... in fact it has gotten worst. I am getting pretty good at doing things while holding a two year old... and bathroom breaks are never private anymore! If you have any suggestions... please pass them on! He is so attached.I am his mommy... NOT Carson's. I hate to say that as bad as it is, I love that I am his comfort zone! He has a HUGE temper. When he gets mad, you can see the horns grow from his forehead! He is funny and is completely a little Mike! I love him to pieces and know that I better not complain about him wanting his mommy all the time now because one day, I will be an embarrasment to him! Here is a picture of my little Nolan bug!

Playing catch up...

Okay so I am a little... well ALOT... behind on postings but I am going to give it a try, and kid willing, I will catch up! Carson turned 5 months old this month. He is becoming such a better baby. If you know him and are around him for long, you know he is a little spoiled and cries ALOT! This month he has gotten so much better. He is laughing alot more and talking (babbling) more. He is so into Nolan now. If Nolan is in the room he wants to watch everything he is doing. He thinks Nolan is so funny and laughs at him constantly. Nolan loves the attention he gets from "bubby". He is sitting up pretty well and thinks he is big stuff when he does! He hates being spoon fed. In fact, he gags when we do it. We have to force feed him... it is pathetic. He is sleeping better. For the most part he either sleeps all night long or gets up once then goes back to bed. He is such a sweet boy. He loves to cuddle and gives a smile that melts your heart. I look forward to what the next month brings! Here is a pic of my sweet monkey!

I'm a big boy now...

Check out my little guy's teeth! These suckers have been a nightmare but they are almost completly in (FINALLY)!

Look out Nolan... try and bite me now!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCORE!!!!

Saturday was Nolan's 1st day of soccer lessons. Nolan loves sports. Anything that involes hitting or kicking a ball, he is all for it! So when I found a class that takes 2 year olds, I signed him up! It is a really cool class. They do lots of coordination games, kicking games and running games. So of course with a class full of kicking and running, I knew it would be right up Nolan's alley. He did exceptionally well. Not to be biased again but he was pretty good for a toddler. He was able to run and kick the ball while traveling down the field. It is so exciting to see our lil' guy out there playing his 1st sport. He is growing up so fast but we are loving every minute of it!

Just a few shots of our soccer player...

They used cones to build a tower and then kick it over. He really enjoyed this part...

He has 12 weeks of soccer so stay posted for updates on our progress...

First day of school!!!!

Last Wednesday was Nolan's 1st day of preschool. I signed him up this summer for a 2 day a week program at a local church. He goes Monday and Wednesday for 3 hours. So, as usual, we talked it up so big... We told him about the playground and all his friends he will meet and of course his cool teacher Mrs. Amy. So Wednesday morning we get dressed and off we go... Nolan was super excited. He did really well until I kissed him and said bye. He immediatley jumped up and pointed to the ground beside him and said "Sit mommy, PLEASE!". So, I sat! The teacher noticed he was having a hard time letting go so she started blowing bubbles to distract him and I did the sneak attack! After a couple seconds he realized I was gone and started wailing!!!! Wanting to cry with him, I walked off and left my baby boy with a stranger, crying! BAD MOMMY! Poor kid is going to have major seperation issues!

When I went to pick him up, he was playing with the other kids. Once he saw me, he jumped up and came running. He was so excited I came back to get him and would not let me put him down! The teacher said he cried most of the morning but then calmed down and enjoyed class!

Off to school....Nolan's preschool...

Nolan and his teacher Mrs. Amy...

Funny story about boys vs. girls. When we got there, the girls in his class were sittin at the table playing with tea party toys. Nolan walks to the table and grabs a pink spoon and an orange slice and starts to play baseball with them. To Nolan anything can be a bat and a ball!

Nolan's 1st piece of school art...

So all weekend we talked with Nolan and played the school thing up really big AGAIN! I asked him if he wanted to go to school on Monday and his answer, very quickly, was always NO!!!! So this morning I took Nolan back to school. As soon as we go in the class, Nolan pointed to the floor and said "sit mommy!". I gave him his bag and told him to go hang it up at his cubby and I did the sneak attack again! Not even 30 seconds later and I hear him wailing!!! I waited until I saw them line up and go outside (the whole time he was crying/screaming) and on the way outside I saw him and he was soooo sad. I knew I had to leave him, so here I am shedding a tear as I walked to my car.... Growing up and letting go is so hard!!!!! Wish me luck for Wednesday!!!!!
